Japa Malas should bring spiritual protection, calmness, relaxation and comfort to the wearer when worn as a necklace.
This traditional Japa Mala rosary is strung with 108 green aventurine beads and finished with a complementing Guru tassel bead. A Japa Mala is used for aiding one to keep count while chanting, reciting, or mentally repeating a mantra, a practice known in Sanskrit as japa. The number 108 is seen to be very auspicious because it is a product of multiple of three, its digits add up to nine, which is three threes, and three is the number symbolizing the trinity of heaven, earth and mankind luck which produces supreme balance. Counting should always begin with a bead next to the Guru bead, the 109th bead, also called bindu, stupa or sumeru dangled with tassels. This is a special extra bead that is also meant for you to pause from absorption in meditation and thank your teachers (Guru) when your fingers reach this marker during prayer.
This mala prayer beads can be used for Hindu or Buddhist prayer, ideal for meditation, yoga, puja, sadhana and self-consecration. It should bring spiritual protection, calmness, relaxation and comfort to the wearer when worn as a necklace.
