When the Fuk Luk Sau face your dining table, they will bring an abundance of blessings.
The Fuk Luk Sau, meaning “Three Lucky Immortals / Star Gods”, are a very popular symbol to display in Asian homes or offices. They are also highly demanded by those in positions of high power, such as government officials or politicians, because the Fuk Luk Sau is believed to bring authority, success, fame and fortune.
These three star deities are strong icons of the most essential aspirations on which humankind depends; wealth, happiness and longevity. Each of these deities are often shown carrying with them different items with auspicious meanings – Fuk holds with him a scroll, which symbolizes beneficial inherent luck; he is also sometimes seen holding a child - which symbolizes good descendant luck. Luk, who is always seen in the center of the three deities, carries a gold ingot, and a “Ru Yi” (scepter of office), and symbolizes prosperity. Sau holds in his hands a staff and a Wu Lou or a peach (the fruit of immortality). Sau is a symbol of longevity and a healthy life.
These three star gods together are a representation of inner harmony; it is said that if you prominently place the Fuk Luk Sau in a main room of your home, such as the living or dining room, they will bring unity to your family and endless good fortune to the residents of the house. According to Lillian Too, famous Feng Shui author and grandmaster, it should be displayed on a high table, in front of a solid wall in either the dining room or living room. The Fuk Luk Sau would also be effective in the office, but it must be placed behind your work desk or working area. The Fuk Luk Sau are not prayed to, but they must still be revered and respected.
This high quality set of Fuk Luk Sau is made of resin wood substitute.
The Fuk Luk Sau are rarely seen in a religious light; they are merely an icon used in Feng Shui, and so are not prayed to at altars or temples.
Some Feng Shui tips on the placement of this good luck symbol:
1). When the Fuk Luk Sau face your dining table, they will bring an abundance of blessings, making sure that you are never in need and have sufficient resources for the whole family to be happy.
2) Place the Fuk Luk Sau in relation to the “Sub Direct Spirit”, which can be determined by examining the Ho Tu.
3) Place the Fuk Luk Sau on a table which is higher than 3 feet, in main areas of your home (such as the main hall); this will serve to signify that all goals in the lives of family members will be reached.
4) To obtain support from those around you, the Fuk Luk Sau should be displayed behind your desk or work area.
5) Display the Fuk Luk Sau in distinguished directions or sectors of the main halls of your home, to energize and revitalize the force of Feng Shui.
6) Place the Fuk Luk Sau in important vicinities of customer interaction, such as the reception desk or the manager’s office, to bring in wealth luck and success.
*Note* Although these deities are not prayed to, they must still be treated with respect. Never place them in the bedroom, the kitchen or the toilet.
