Handmade Indian-style Dream Catcher With Feathers

Traditionally, dreamcatchers were used as talismans to protect sleeping people, especially children and babies from nightmares and bad dreams. Originally created by Native Americans, they believe that dreams, both good and bad, circulate in the air at night. Dream catchers are used to trap the good dreams and slide them down gently through the fluffy feathers to the sleeper below undisturbed. Bad dreams on the other hand are caught in its protective net and disposed off at dawn.

The shape of the dreamcatcher is a circle because it represents the circle of life and how forces like the sun and moon travel each day and night across the sky. It is also referred to as "Sacred Hoops".
