 Kuan Yin (Avalokitesvara) is a very prominent and revered Goddess, widely pursued by the Chinese and followers of Mahayana Buddhism. Because she has the ability to comfort the sick and senile, Kuan Yin is highly admired and adored. She touches their hearts and souls, creating a sense of peace and relief amongst those who were less fortunate.

Kuan Yin is the short form Chinese name for Guan Shi Yin where Guan means to watch, monitor and observe; Shi means the world; Yin means sounds, specifically sounds of people suffering on earth. Guan Shi Yin is thus the “One Who Hears the Cries of the World”.
