The four-leaf clover is a rare variation of the common three-leaf clover and is believed to bring good luck. In addition, each leaf is believed to represent something: faith, hope, love and luck.

Ammolite is derived from the fossilized shells of extinct ammonites (ancient sea creatures). It has been buried over a 100 million years absorbing a substantial amount of both the Earth’s and the universe’s positive cosmic energy. Just think of the energy an ammonite holds! For feng shui purposes the colorful ammolite has more power!

Particularly important are the energy in every color of the visible spectrum found inside the ammolite that create its dynamic radiance. There are 7 distinct colors, hence the name Seven Color Prosperity Stone, with each color bringing new meaning: Red nourishes love, orange generates creativity, yellow improves wealth, green improves wisdom, blue improves health, indigo encourages peace and violet stimulates growth and energy.

This rare and valuable opal-like organic gemstone are found primarily along the eastern slopes of the Rocky mountains of the United States and Canada. It is arguably the rarest gemstone on earth, rivalling the rarity of such gemstones as alexandrite and red diamonds. In 1982, ammolite was given official gemstone status by the World Jewelry Confederation, the same year commercial mining of ammolite began.

Although the terms ammolite and ammonite are sometimes used interchangeably, ammonite, strictly speaking, refers to the fossil shells of ammonites, whether they are gem-quality or not.

The ammonite is a very powerful shell, and this has a lot of meaning in Chinese culture – the Chinese have always regarded shells as successful generators of fortune and luck, able to attract prosperity and riches. It is for this reason that Ammonite has a very high place in Feng Shui.

Ammonite shells, because they have been underground for countless centuries, are believed to be full of knowledge about the Earth’s universal energy that they managed to soak up while buried. The wearer of the Ammonite pendant will be benefited in countless ways, achieving a state of wellbeing and self-illumination.

When worn, the Ammolite pendant is believed to stimulate the constant regeneration of good chi within the body – this is said to decrease the amount of toxins in the blood, creating clarity of mind and decreased illness odds.  It is also said to allow for increased intelligence, creativity and leadership.

The origin of Ammonite

Approximately 100 million years ago, during the era of dinosaurs, the derivation of ammonite existed in the form of a shell-dwelling creature. When it died, it was buried under layers of soil, and eventually crystallized into the Ammonite available today. Over the years, there have been many beliefs of what Ammonite originated from; Feng Shui masters thought that they were the scales of a celestial animal known as “Chi Lin”, while in the 16th century it was believed to be the scales of a dragon, or “draconite”. Although it can only be found in a few places (such as Canada), this lucky charm holds a large role in the mythical working of many areas, such as England, Egypt, Ethiopia and Asia. The price of Ammolite is very high, due to it being a very rare substance in high demand; this makes it all the more vital in the practice of Feng Shui.

How energy finds its way in Ammolite

During its millions of years under the soil, this natural gem is said to have immersed in the energies of endless sunshine, rain, rainbows and wind, all arising from the powers of the universe since the moment existence began. It is also a depiction of the unity of the 5 elements (Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal), all in one Feng Shui item. Because it was once a living organism, its now crystallized form holds the power of wisdom and knowing. Due to its vibrant colors which contain the colors of all seven chakras of the body, it is believed that the stream of chi from all the universe was taken into the Ammolite, and can now be seen in a spiral pattern. This can be proven because, when cut open, one can view the spirals inside the Ammonite, depicting the potent worldly energy within it. This good luck charm has the power to direct the flow of chi, so that the beholder receives only beneficial luck.

Because it is said to be the scale of the celestial animal Chi Lin, Ammolite is very popular among couples who are trying to conceive. It is also said to be a fantastic wealth luck magnet, and excellent for capturing the energy of the #8 Earth Wealth Star.
